Below is a general guide to what’s on for young people in the Holywell Group, which comprises All Saints’ in Rockwell Green, Holy Cross in Sampford Arundel and St Margaret’s in Thorne St Margaret. As this is subject to change during holidays and at special times of the year, please get in touch with Helena Power (01823 669135) to find out what’s happening on any particular day. All are welcome: do come and join us.
First Sunday of the month All-age communion service at All Saints’ in Rockwell Green, starting at 9.30 a.m. This lasts around an hour, including refreshments after the service, and members of Sunday Club usually take part by reading the Bible passage for the day, leading the prayers or presenting a dramatised version of the Bible story. There is a children’s corner at the back; please don’t worry about small children making a noise as they are all welcome.
Second Sunday Youth group in the Lang Room behind All Saints’ church, 3 p.m. to around 4 p.m. This is especially for young people of secondary school age. New members are always welcome. Come and explore the Christian faith and have some fun.
Third Sunday 11.15 a.m. Family service at Holy Cross, Sampford Arundel. This is a short and informal service with music provided by the Sunday Club band. If you aren’t used to going to church but would like to try it out, this is a great place to start.
Fourth Sunday 9.30 a.m. Sunday Club in the Lang Room behind All Saints’. This is especially for primary school-aged children but all are welcome, including younger children who come with a parent or carer. We have stories, songs, prayers, arts and crafts, and go in to the church towards the end of the service so that the children can go up to the altar for a blessing during the communion.
