Bell Ringing

Bellringing (the ringing of Church bells) is an ancient skill primarily intended to call people to worship and to celebrate family occasions such as funerals and weddings. Bells are also rung to celebrate significant major local and national events and anniversaries. Bellringing is also a healthy pastime (offering physical exercise and mental agility) with positive social benefits (meeting with welcoming, like minded people; taking part in organised ringing outings and ringing competitions) and is suitable and recommended for most people of all ages and gender. More information can be found on the Central Council of Church Bell Ringers (CCCBR) website at cccbr.org.uk and the Bath and Wells Diocesan Association of Change Ringers website at www.bath-wells.org
